TO: INTERESTED SNOWMOBILERS
FROM: CHRISTINE JOURDAIN
FLY-IN -- As we start the new year, I wanted to get
a very important date on your calendars. Our Fly-In has been set for April 1
- April 4, 2006.
This is our annual trip to Washington, DC where we have the opportunity to
meet with leaders from all of the agencies that we work with, as well as with
our legislative offices. This has been an extremely successful event. We
have gone from our first Fly-In where they wondered who we were and why we
were there, to having them expect us and look forward to meeting with us.
We have secured rooms at the Phoenix Park which is conveniently located to
Capitol Hill.
Mark your calendars -- we would love to have you join us.
CASH CALENDARS -- As you know, the American Council
of Snowmobile Associations is once again using the Cash Calendar as a
fundraiser. Calendars are $20 each -- with $5 going back to the State
Association. There are 365 prizes -- one for every day of the year and range
from $20 to a full size snowmobile.
Calendars can be purchased through the ACSA office or through your state
association. The first drawing will not be held until the beginning of
February.
There is still time to be a big winner....but you can't win if you don't buy a
calendar. BUY ONE TODAY!!
CLEAN SNOWMOBILE CHALLENGE -- The 7th Annual Clean
Snowmobile Challenge will be held March 13 - March 18, 2006 at the Keweenaw
Research Center in Hancock, Michigan.
There are generally between 15 and 20 universities that participate in this
event from across the United States and Canada. Each university sends a team
of students with "their snowmobile" which has been a year-long project.
The Challenge was held in Wyoming for 3 years and has been in Michigan for 4
years. The Wyoming State Snowmobile Association and the Michigan Snowmobile
Association have provided the volunteers to act as the liaisons for the past 6
years.
We are looking for volunteers to act as liaisons for the Challenge this year.
If you are interested in serving as a team liaison, please contact the ACSA
office.
Or, if you would like to make a financial contribution to help fund a team
liaison, please contact the ACSA office. The costs incurred include room and
board for 7 days.
It's a great opportunity to see the next generation of snowmobile engineers
hard at work. It is very exciting to participate. Please contact me if you
are interested.
